Some decent deals on BBQs in homebase at the moment.

Link to all BBQ stuff : https://www.homebase.co.uk/clearance/garden-and-outdoor/barbecues-and-outdoor-heating/bbqs

I picked up the Nimbus 6 burner for €180, selling in UK for £130 good few other ones available

    https://www.homebase.co.uk/texas-nimbus-6-burner-gas-bbq_p495151

Prices all in GBP on their website.

Cheaper again if you go up north for it, no idea about stock levels though

Very good deals there - thank you OP. My recommendation at those prices is to go for the biggest you can afford.

Homebase fonthill had huge cuts on all prices when I was in there about a fortnight ago.

They're closing down and determined to flog off everything asap. I don't know if that store is still there by now.

Iv never seen a shop run a sale where it flogs off furniture from the offices and shelving from the back store before whilst giving 50 and 70% discounts on the regular stock.

    That place is toast.

    Can't see any deals there

They always overprice so they can discount, no one bought any of those at 400 that's for sure

    Homestore do the same

Thank you Etnies for the alert.

We needed another Dual Fuel BBQ for a holiday home.

Just finished putting together the Dual fuel smoker, we got the Aldi one last year for 199 euro this was 270 there's a few extra bits and gas grill plate is heavier case Iron. Overall for 70euro extra and the Aldi one being unavailable, I think it was good value.

Took about 1hr 45minutes to put together, was fairly straight forward.

Seems like good value so far, thanks for the alert really worked out for us.

Hi, did you have to drive up the north to get this or did you get it from a store in Ireland? Also how do you check stock in ireland?

I chanced my arm and dropped into Home base on the Naas Road on Saturday to see if I could get one. It was a successful trip! Picked up the 6 burner for 180.

Don't know if it's any use though as it's still in the box until the weather clears up!

Re: vs NI you can check stock at the NI shops online (seem to be sold out anywhere) but not the Irish shops. If you're from Dublin it's a 30 euro difference roughly (£135 vs €180) so you'd probably spend most of it in petrol on the spin over.

I probably took the last 6-burner one on Sunday morning. We looked at another one which was 200 + , it wasn't in stock in that branch but Santry had some. So HB Santry is probably your best bet if you want to take a trip there.

and if going up north people can take advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme currently running Mondays to Wednesdays until Aug 31st. Spent £20 in a restaurant and you'll get charged £10 at the till. Its a good deal if you are up north anyway

I bought a tank of calorgas but it appears it doesn't work with my homebase gas bbq.

Is there seperate gas for bbqs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,858 ✭✭✭Soarer

You probably bought Propane and the BBQ's regulator is Butane, or vice versa.
    Two options.
    1. Return the gas and get the other variety.
    2. Keep the gas and buy/swap the regulator.

Option 1 is a lot handier.

    Is your gas tank orange?

All modern bbqs are designed to work with patio gas, ie the grey cylinders.

One of them is cheaper than the other, so sometimes it's better to buy the regulator, I haven't actually bought gas yet for this BBQ but have one for my firepit and I got the regulator

Yes it's an orange Calorgas butane tank.
I didn't know there were different ones for BBQs.
