Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Sad outcome in round 2 for the 50+ guys against an Austrian team
    After 2-3 hours we led 1.5-0.5: win on four, draw on three. Peter Cafolla first missed first a brilliant win but then escaped after his blunder. Boards 1 and 2 both looked like drawn endings but sadly both Paul Wallace and Tony Fox got outplayed somehow.
    The Fox is licking his wounds today while the rest play Germany Women. Unfortunately the live boards for today's 50+ match seem to have stopped after a few moves.

    Looking on the bright side, the 65+ guys scored a comfortable 4-0 against a weak local team to earn a tougher match today, which does seem to be going out live.

    3.30pm: 50+ match live boards are working now. Positions look quite promising if the online engine at chess24 can be believed.
