Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Irish air corps overseas?

    If someone becomes an Irish air corps pilot will they be sent overseas for peacekeeping?

    Unlikely..maybe to fly a helicopter. I'm in the RAF and we protect Irish skies with radar and fast jets so I seriously doubt the capability is there to do over sea missions.

    We can't keep air ambulance missions staffed outside working hours half the time so sending one of our 22 aircraft overseas would be a bit of a stretch. Defence Forces management / gov policy relating to same are a joke, may as well outsource it to Securicor.

    The people are great.. comments purely aimed at govt not taking it seriously. We don't have to go overboard like USA or China just spend a decent amount on a decent force.

    Yes you can be sent oversea's on a peacekeeping mission, but you'll never deploy oversea's as a pilot.
