I have hundreds of phone pics that I would like to print. What's the best option for doing this? Are home photo printers any good, or expensive to run compared to getting them done somewhere?

    Thanks

A "real" photolab where they use wet process printing is likely to be your best quality for the price.
I'd choose a few and get that set done at each place you're considering, so you can compare how the exact same photo comes out at each one.

Some places neglect their chemistry and don't do color control calibration often enough etc.. and you'll spot them pretty quick if you run into them.

Using wet process you'll also end up with a print that has a lifetime of 75-100 years in good chemistry. Places that neglect their chemistry more like 20. Places that use dye sublimation, 15-20, places that use inkjet for small prints more like 3-8 years.
(Larger format equipment is likely to use pigment-based ink instead of dye-based)

Sorry for hijacking, but can you give me a rough idea of cost per photo printed please lenscap? Private message is fine if you don't want it broadcast.

I have hundreds of photos from my phone that I would love to have set to paper to be able to frame or collage together.
    Thanks

If you use the links above you will see the prices.
The best value is 300 or more 6x4 prints at 10c each.

Took a look at your site. You're printing on Fuji Crystal archive. Does that mean a Fuji Frontier for the printing? :)
(Very partial to their output after having worked with places that use Agfa or Noritsu.. it's a lot less noticable that it's a digital print compared to those.)

Yes we use a Fuji Frontier for our RA4 printing. I have used Frontiers for many years and I have always been happy with their quality of printing and their software.

Lenscap needs to make a living! ;)
    10c/print isn't exactly taking in a fortune.

Got ~500+ photos printed from Photofast.ie a few weeks ago. It was marginally more expensive than the likes of Snapfish etc, but felt a bit better supporting an Irish, smaller company. The fuji editor gave me some hassle, but got there in the end. Photos came very fast (within two days iirc) and the quality is perfect, no noticeable issues from the flick through we had. Have yet gotten around to actually going through all the photos, but happy out with what I saw. Was just a little weird, we got 3 x boxes, labelled as 100 count and then a pouch of photos. Haven't counted them (ordered 500+!) but I'm sure it's okay...!
