Getting someone to review a vinyl record collection

    Hi All,

Hoping you can point me in the right direction.

I have a bunch of vinyl records, mostly classical, that my Dad left behind when he shuffled his mortal coil in 1987. I've had a look through a few of them, some are cheap, others quite expensive, he was a keen collector. What I'd like is to hire someone to review and value them and to pay them to do it, regardless of whether I decide to sell them or not.

Is there any such a person or place that can do that?

    Thanks.

I would recommend going on to discogs.com

You can just type in the number at the barcode, or even scan the barcode itself with an app on your phone, and it will show you what they sell for, depending on condition.

the likes of spindizzy and the recordspot in Dublin will call to your home and rate the vinyl and offer a price. They will then sell it on for probably twice that. You would't have to take their offer.
Discogs is great but you would need to be able to grade the vinyl correctly.
