Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

You can't in general. You could delete a thread if your post is the only one in it, and you're within the 48 hour time limit for editing.

But otherwise you'll need to ask the local mods to do so. And they may choose not to if there isn't a good reason for it.
