Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

How to get to Rostrevor/Newry/anywhere nearby?

    Does anyone know how best to get from Letterkenny to Rostrevor or nearby areas on public transport?

    I've tried to see is there a bus that goes from Omagh but I'm finding it hard to figure out the Translink service.

    Most bus services want me to go via Dublin which I'd rather not because it makes what should be a three/four journey into six hours.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Use the national journey planner at www.a-b.ie - it works on an all island basis.

    Tweak the settings as appropriate.

    Also you can download the NTA journey planner app.

    You're probably going to have to go Letterkenny-Derry-Belfast-Rostrevor.

    Bus Eireann Letterkenny-Derry

    Ulsterbus Derry - Belfast, Belfast - Newry, Newry - Rostrevor

    You could also use NI Railways Derry - Belfast, Belfast - Newry, it is likely to be a bit slower than Bus so journey planner may not show it.

    There's also a direct Belfast-Rostrevor service by Rooney Coach Hire.
