SNK not happy that NeoGeo is being associated with a crappy product most likely. Or Tommo violating whatever contract they had.

That's what I was thinking, but then it hasn't bothered them this far and the letter seems very sudden.

I reckon either Tommo haven't honoured their royalty payments or else a copywrite holder of one of the games they were releasing has just found out and gone ape ****.

I just checked the prices on Ebay and Amazon, still in the £150 region.
    Still so not worth it.
I suppose there's no hope of a fire sale on these things?

Does this mean that all vendors will have to cease trading the items?

Kinda want one now.... just 'coz they're there.... not spending money on it though, especially when and we've mentioned it before, you can buy an MVS system, with controllers, and a Supergun (from Last Bandit) for the same sort of money and play the real deal.

It's an awfully overpriced piece of rubbish, but the stick is meant to be fairly good. Wonder if there's a way of modding it to work with an AES/Supergun?

Well, Neo Geo extension cables are easily found on Ebay, I'd say with one of those and a crimping tool it would be easily done.

I'd say Tommo just didn't renew the license for the Neo Geo brand and software since the Neo Geo X wasn't selling so it's being withdrawn.

Oooh, more drama, a reply from Tommo!

Tommo Responds to the Wrongful Termination Claim by SNK PLAYMORE USA CORP

Worldwide publisher and manufacturer of games and accessories continues to support and distribute NEOGEO X

Los Angeles, Calif. – October 7, 2013 – Tommo, Inc., today responded to the press release that appeared on the SNK PLAYMORE USA Corp website last week. Tommo, Inc. denies that any breach of contract exists in their agreement with SNK PLAYMORE USA Corp and are continuing to support and market the popular NEOGEO X GOLD entertainment system, its accessories, and games. Due to the popularity of the system, Tommo and SNK extended the agreement earlier this year until 2016. Tommo fully expects this agreement to be honored by all parties. To date, Tommo has performed all of its obligations under its license agreement with SNK and is disappointed by SNK’s sudden and unjustified termination of the agreement. Tommo has demanded that SNK retract its press release and any attempts to terminate the license agreement.

“Tommo is still taking care of all customer service and product warranties in North America as are our master distribution partners, Success in Asia and Blaze in Europe,” said Jonathan Wan, CEO of Tommo, Inc.. “We’re continuing to sell NEOGEO X products, including the NEOGEO X GOLD System, Arcade Stick, MEGA PACK Volume 1 and Classics Volumes 1-5. The license agreement which allows Tommo to sell and market these products remains in effect.”

Tommo Inc. would like to thank the thousands of NEOGEO X fans who have shown amazing support for NEOGEO X in the last week and want them to know we will continue to support them, their NEOGEO X GOLD systems and products.

I can see breach of court with false information in that reply already that could bring the entire case down. The 'popular' Neo Geo X Gold? :P

By the way, does anyone think of a dirty, inner city skanger when they read the name 'Tommo'? Gives an interesting angle to the press releases :D

    Isn't he in Love/Hate?
The one who hangs around school yards and pushes badly emulated NeoGeo games on school kids, despite the provisionals telling him not to.
    I'd say he's fecked!

He was choking the chicken last week and loves fizzy orange more than Kel from Kenan and Kel.
