Not sure where this should go

    Move if required

    Hi,

I'm trying to get a gas fire from B&Q UK.
    B&Q Ireland don't carry it.

    They say :

B&Q UK will not ship to Ireland.
B&Q Ireland cannot order it from B&Q UK, because it's not in their catalogue.
    Weight is 20/25kgs.

    Is there a solution.

    Thanks

    Jay

DPD parcel wizard is your man here.

Order from B&Q and give the delivery address for parcel motel in Newtonabbey.
Order gets sent out to PW in Newtonabbey
Leaves Newtonabbey that evening for DPDs hub in Athlone.
Next morning it gets forwarded to your local DPD depot.
Delivered to your front door later that day.

Ie, order Monday, you will more than likely have it at your front door on Wednesday for less than 4 euro.

Depending on what size it is you might have issues. there are couriers that can deliver for around 50 euro per cubic meter however if your item is over 2m, alot wont accept it.

This. Set up a parcel motel account and add a tenner credit to it. They'll give you a UK address that you can use to order the fireplace and then nightline will deliver it to a parcel motel of your choice in Ireland. Unless you're really in the arse end of nowhere or on one of the islands there should be one near enough to you.

Edit: actually if its big and heavy might need more than a tenner credit.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the advice.

I'm living in Cork, so driving to Newry and back is going to rule it out... costwise.
The smallest weight , on the new one is 27kgs'
and I assume package size will be another problem.

As usual it's never easy to get a bargain......

    Thanks

    Jay

Taken from their faq. Maybe they aren't strict on it.

Pallet network it down from Newry. There's a fair few here who do it when buying coal from coal island.

They're not strict. Got oversized/overweight items delivered by them multiple times, never charged me extra for that. :)

Mod note: I'll move this to Online Buying forum, where they might have more information on this. I'll close the thread for a wee while to do this and please note the change in forum and forum rules.
