This is an interesting development as I know UCC have plans for that site as well. The race is on!

No racing. Masterplan for both entities has been broadly agreed by both parties, apparently.

Mercy document on their website shows buildings belonging to both on Distillery site.

(sorry, I still can't post links)

They also feel having an academic element to the campus is a big factor in favour of developing the elective hospital there

Ah brilliant! Very excited now! Will be interesting to see how fast this goes up considering how fast they do NYC ones but since I can’t remember the Elysian going up, going to be delighted seeing this happening!

Regarding the Prism, I see that CField are after settling up their compound in the yard of the former Reliance Bearing building next to the Cork Simon building.

AFAIK that building is owned by OCP so they are doing each other a good deed.

The lift shaft of the Elysian went up in two weeks should they do it the same method with the Prism. The piling will be the slowest part of the job.

OCP had planning for a development on that corner but never happened.

There's pedestrian access to the left side of York Street whilst the demolition is going on. No need to divert up to York Hill.

Took a walk past the Prism site yesterday, path is covered in orange marks presumably where the hoarding is going to go.

Looks like a really small space! Can't imagine a big tall building going in there :) Very exciting though

Just as an aside, would be nice if the bus station got a bit of a makeover again - it's looking tired again....probably not gonna happen anytime soon

That's the beauty of building up!

Be great now if the 25 floor proposal for the sextant site got the green light in a few days time.

    :)

Its going to be great to see another lift shaft pop up in the next few months. This building is almost the same height as the Elysian bar the antenna I believe.
