Hello all. I separated from my husband and we have to organise the legal aspect of everything. I worked all my life outside and took care of our children. He is a very difficult character who wants everything his own way. This was the case all our life. He travelled, progressed his career, took care of himself. I did everything in the best interests of the children and contributed to the 'team'. I now realise there was no team.

He wants 50% custody of the kids - mainly in order to avoid paying maintenance. He earns well over €120,000. I expect a very hard battle. There is no doubt that he has siphoned off funds for himself - he can keep it - I want to be rid of him. Mediation was a joke. Basically I need a strong solicitor as I am afraid and very nervous of what I am unleashing on myself. I feel sick inside.

I am based in Dublin. Thanks in advance for recommendations of good solicitors.

Always extremely difficult to make a personal recommendation on Solicitors, particularly in such a difficult time and journey ahead. Whilst I can recommend one, I personally feel you need to look at various small firms who specialise in family and seperation law, most will highlight on their websites what areas they specialise in.

Also, if you have close friends or family that may have recommendations based on experience.

Normally a first consult with a new solicitor is free and they will explain the path ahead and costs. Good luck with your search and more importantly I hope whatever solicitor you choose, they will guide you and offer whatever support is necessary.

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.
