Mary I are out in the Fitzgibbon today, so that combined with the Limerick V Clare match in he final of the munster league meant they had pretty much a third choice team out, little or nothing to be taken from the game.

What if Clare, Limerick, Waterford, and Tipp pooled their resources in inter-county football?!?

Power played very little last season anyway...

Power hardly played last season anyway. Plus they can move hogan up the pitch from midfield....super strong panel

With power it was more the damage he can do in the short space of time he is on the field.

Tipperary are hardly in that position though are they that they would have to pool?dont know much about the state of football in tipp either so one of the football lads might tell us?

It's no where near as strong as it was a couple of years back, and KK would not have won the AI in 2014 without Power, the two loses together is a very big blow.

Kilkeeny have suffered losses and lost players - like JJ, Brian Hogan Henry and et al the season before - KK have proved they can weather such losses - Players stepped up - Power had moved on - was injured more often than not. While it's a cruciate injury Aylward has - he might make it back for the AI quarters/semis - depending on his powers of recovery

Well, they just lost three of their brightest stars...to hurling and aussie rules.

Plus, they got hammered in their final game last year - there is still a gap - not as big as the gap was before. But, pooling with another county might bring more trouble than anything! Particularly, if its Limerick!!!!! They have a choice county board!

From the TIpp website:

Tipperary defeated Laois by 1-31 to 0-17 in a Senior Hurling Challenge on Sunday afternoon in Dr. Morris Park Thurles.

On a windy, wet day in Thurles, Laois had the aid of the strong wind in the first half and raced in to a 0-9 to 0-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. Tipperary steadied the ship somewhat in the second quarter but still trailed at the interval by 0-14 to 0-6.

The second half was all one way traffic for a much changed Tipperary (13 half time changes) as they dominated from an early stage. Eight unanswered points saw Tipperary draw level by the 47th minutes before a good catch and pass by Conor Kenny helped set up John McGrath for the games only goal in the 51st minutes. Laois did recover to score three unanswered points midway through the second half but the last ten minutes saw Tipperary score at will to complete a 17 point victory, 1-31 to 0-17.

PJ Scully (7) and Willie Hyland (3) were the top scorers for Laois while second half subs Liam and John McGrath accounted for 1-9 of Tipperary’s 1-25.

Maybe one day they will get around to listing the substitutes. I think the subs deserve a bit of respect.

If Tipp do not win today I will be asking why the game was not played in Thurles. I do not have to be reminded that there was a club game played there yesterday. Just throw your mind back to Kilmallock last Sunday a game played there the day before and the club worked very hard to get the pitch right under the most difficult of conditions !
