Some very low quality "men" on this thread.

    Thankfully, not the norm.

More like a gang of 16 year old's. Still, it would explain why birth rates are falling in western nations if this is the standard... :D

bizarrely, the one that didn't interact was the least attractive one.

What's bizzare about 'the least attractive one' not interacting?

I'm guessing she should have been grateful that this stud acknowledged her.

This thread is hilarious, the serious answers are like a what not to do guide. The non-serious responses are funny. Let's just hope most can spot the difference.

Told her she was pretty and she seemed to have received the compliment well contrary to what I hear from feminists online.

Assuming this happened, which it didn't, I wonder how good you are at reading people. What was it about her reaction that makes you believe she received the compliment well, as opposed to being a bit creeped out by the whole thing?

She gave a "genuine" happy smile as opposed to a forced "polite" smile that women give when they're trying to be nice but feel uncomfortable

Only talk to women at bus stops if you have a trouser pocket full of change. Keep jiggling the change with your hand in your pocket while you talk to them as this will indicate to them that you not only have money but understand how Dublin Bus works.

    This is brilliant!:D

That only works if you are Chinese.

If you are Irish it could be seen as very culturally inappropriate!
It actually works very well with the Polish too, especially if you can say it in their language - "Yestesh piekna." It would be way too forward to say to an Irish girl.

I need higher my standards honestly!

I've actually just realized most of my friends are women. I know hardly any men.

Apologies if it's been mentioned already but I think it was a Gillette ad (the one about stopping toxic masculinity) . Seemed to show a man on the street going to approach a girl only for his friend to step in and stop him.
****e like that surely has young men fearing what will be made of them if they do approach a woman.
Sad way for the world to be.

I think if you are prepared to be her friend if she doesn't want a date then you can approach. If you are just going to dismiss her because she has a bf or doesn't want to date you. Then ..hmm..

Is it taboo to approach outside the setting of a pub where everyones plastered? Before this pandemic, I approached a woman my age in her 20s at the bus stop and had a good aul chat. Told her she was pretty and she seemed to have received the compliment well contrary to what I hear from feminists online.

But I've heard cold approaches are really not suitable for the culture of Ireland and would be found more in the US/South America/Australia etc...

This is your problem. Woman, as in singular. It's a numbers game and you gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers in this racket.

First they came for the socialists...

That's not true, if I fancy a man I don't want the consolation prize of friendship.

No one approaches strangers to add to their friends lists, friendships tend to develop organically.

Sad. Utterly heartbreaking. You poor men. How can you be expected to live your lives without making unwanted advances on women in the street who are just trying to get on with their lives.

"men fearing what will be made of them if they do approach a woman". Any thought for the women who might be just a tad fearful of men twice their size, coming up to them at bus stops, or as in that ad, innocently walking down the street. To leer at the them and tell them they're pretty. Like our self esteem is based solely on some total strangers opinion of us. And then of course we have to smile and appear to 'receive the compliment well' so he doesn't turn on us.

So how do we go about the whole reproduction thing? Is there going to be designated places and times men are allowed approach women?

Never heard anyone self made say that. In fact most successful people have been disgustingly unlucky. Its not up to fate or luck. Its about the work you put in, you are rewarded by. Some people don't have to put the work in, but when **** hits the fan. There backs are against the wall they crumble. Those of us who fight back after every failure form a nimble agility to step over it like nothing more then a pot hole.

    You learn more from failure.

There are loads of ways to meet someone. People meet through work, hobbies, sports etc all the time. Get to know each other, like each other, go from there.

There's dating websites and apps and even real life match matching services if that's your thing.

And there's places that have been normalised as meeting spots like bars and clubs. I think most reasonable people expect that there will be people approaching others in those sorts of places. That doesn't mean you have to go there for that purpose or be open to it but it's a far more reasonable place than the street, the bus stop, the wine aisle in Tesco.

It would be the icing on the cake of course if everyone in those bars were respectful of each other and made their intentions clear in a polite way without uninvited touching or anything like that and then accepted a 'no thanks' as suggested by another posted (since deleted). Unfortunately in my experience, and the experience of many women I know, this is often not the case and a polite no thanks from me has been met with anything from verbal to physical abuse. But at least in club/pub you have people around and bouncers. On a quiet street or a bustop or some other random place you can feel a lot more vulnerable and find yourself smiling to avoid those reactions.

And before anyone says it, yes I know men can be victim of unwanted advances too and can met with a nasty reaction if they turn those advances down and that's horrible but I think on the whole, men have less to fear from a woman crossing the street to walk beside them, telling them they're handsome.

Does it's powers weaken at night? :pac:
There's probably a separate video for the night game. I wonder is there another video for bus stops.
