A question, I thought each family members history was unknown to the 'family'.

I've added a young buck, and all of a sudden I'm getting dirt in 'my' history, dirty dirt, he's 19 nearly.

It's natural, it's normal, but my other half doesn't see it that way.

Thing is, when I added the young 'un I assured him that whatever he viewed wasn't seen by other 'family' members....... It seems I made an assumption that was incorrect and in my opinion real damaging possibly to our relationship - I have lied about that if I broach the subject.

Why can I see this dirt? I don't want to 'spy' on him but it's in my face, and her face, and therefore I'm guilty as in logged in under my name.

When he joined, it stated that only name, email, phone would be viewable by other family members. Seemingly that isn't so.

    Help

Not sure what your setup is but unless he's using it under your user name there should be no crossover.

I saw this as a user of 2 years with some "distant" family members.

There's not much"dirty dirt" on YouTube so I think you may be overreacting anyway

It came to a head when I was all showy to her indoors and there was dirty dirt there, coincided with me adding them to the 'family'.

I'm seeing dirty dirt and it was not me, only 3 in the family ..,. My lovely lady, the stepson and me. I can rule out two straightaway lol.

There's dirt on there it seems.

He must be logging on with your profile, I created a family and I have zero way of knowing what any other member is watching, and I’m pretty sure you tube has no porn on it
Edit sorry yeah I just typed in porn on you tube and it definitely has some kinky stuff on it!

Yeah he must be logged in as you on some device. Check your watch history.

You can check your logged in devices also.

Been on this for ages now, I've a family plan but recently I've noticed that when I go into my super mix, recommendations are for stuff someone not in our family has been listening to.

The likes of scooter :D and other shît German dance artists, a "DJ Alligator" seems to be recommended quite a lot also.

Does anyone know how to make the app only recommend music I've been playing, and by that I mean that it doesn't throw up stuff my kids have been listening to.

We have a family account with seperate email addresses etc, the kids have Google minis in their rooms and we have a Google home in the kitchen, one in the workshop and a hub in the kitchen also.

This has already come up, one of the kids has to be logging in with one of the adult accounts by accident, very easily done if either of you have ever logged onto their device

I don't follow, the kids each have their own Google devices In their bedrooms, and are signed into various devices.

I do happen to be signed into their Gmail accounts on my phone if that's relevant (they're kids after all) if I remove their Google accounts from my phone would that make a difference I wonder?

Anyway, apart from that it doesn't explain the random dance music, I'm definitely not listening to that nonsense, and neither are my kids.

Ok apologies so I thought you were getting your kids music like scooter being suggested on your device

Who's logged into the device in the kitchen? Your kids could easily be playing music there.

I sent my wife an invite at the time of set up but she never accepted it. Now I've tried to do it again and when she tries too accept it gives an error about being in a different country. I've tried setting a vpn to India and it still gives the same error.
Can I get her in the family plan at this point? She is part of the family

Noticed some of the stuff my son watches still has ads for some reason as well

I was in the same boat getting ads and the standard Youtube icon showing top left instead of Premium. I got onto support chat ...... I signed up via Argentina for 149 ARS and it turns out that this is just Youtube Music. To get Youtube Premium (including music) you need to upgrade and it costs an extra 30 ARS totalling 179 ARS monthly. Just did it.... Premium now showing instead of Youtube in top left of Youtube page and no more ads.

ps remember you turn your vpn on while you are upgrading!

Got the family version which works out at around 1.80 euros a month. Great bargain. No YouTube ads and included YT music premium.

How would creating an account located elsewhere work. I use Youtube a bit the kids all the time but always through the App on the Sky Q mini box. Will it Geo Locate and just lockup ?

Just log in once you have signed up. No issues signed in on my sky q box

Firstly big thanks to OP for this.
Just one question. I set up YT prem. for Argentina and have added two family members with no issues. Would it be possible to add a family member in another country?
    Cheers

Listen to some non Argentinian music, your preferences will override the defaults soon enough

I'm constantly listening, they're still being suggested

Don't know what else to suggest. I'm on an Indian sub and I don't get any Indian suggestions past the first couple of weeks

Actually just checked.. The chart music suggestions down the bottom do still score top 100 in India

Make sure you're not still connected to Argentina vpn, that is only needed to setup the payment.

I get zero recommendations from any foreign country, must be a setting some people have wrong, have you changed your location to Ireland in your YouTube settings?
