Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Misleading report

    The Irish Times report says babies born on 1 Jan have a life expectancy of 105 :Irish babies born on January 1st expected to live to 105 years of age – UN. I think they are using this https://population.un.org/wpp/Graphs/926 which says no such thing. Perhaps they mean one of the babies will live to 105!

    A typical misuse of statistics by a reporter who can't see it is a bit unlikely.
