Is that just inline with the ever all time high stock market, or would you have made a better return if it was in the red?

Over 540 million Prize Bonds entries

Hi all, I have recently began following this thread after asking a question over at r/ireland on Reddit.

Not sure if this has been posted before but back in November 2018, I asked the Prize Bonds team how many Prize Bonds were entered into the draw each week and I got the following reply:

There is currently a 3.7 Billion fund at the moment. There is approximately 540 million units going into the draw every Friday.

So you can work out your odds of winning based on the number of bonds that you own.

I have also emailed to get an updated figure so I will post an update when I have one.

Same here....again.
I think some of us need to go to Dublin and protest outside the Dail.
Or “ talk to joe”
That seems to work for some .

Another, if infrequent, 'Killarney' envelope on it's way with €50.

Winnings to date (no winning records kept pre 2005) €1,675 on €9,900 worth of PB's bought monthly over a 21 year period plus €20,000 bought in Feb 2016 (five €50 on the February 2016 purchase).

Winnings 2011 €75
Winnings 2012 €150
Winnings 2013 €200
Winnings 2014 €100
Winnings 2015 Zero
Winnings 2016 €200
Winnings 2017 €250
Winnings 2018 Nada, Zilch, SFA
Winnings 2019 €250 (and counting - could be my best year ever)

Christmas bonus next week?

The Annual Report for 2018 says the fund at the end of the year was €3.415 billion. That would be approx 546 million bonds. The ones from before the Euro are valued at €6.35 each.

In January this year each draw had 4516 €50 prizes. This month it will be 4940 up from 4899 in November. That indicates an increase of 9.4% during the year, which would bring the fund up to approx €3.736 billion, equivalent of about 598 million bonds.

The part of the prize fund allocated to €50 prizes will give a return of 0.35% with average luck, 7 wins per year from €100,000 in bonds.

That would be an easier way than emailing them. They have replied to me to say that there is currently 3.625* billion in the fund and 579,610,441 units go into the draw each week.

*Their initial reply said that there was 36 billion in the fund but upon questioning, this was revealed as a typo.
