Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

crack in plaster over bricked up fireplace

    We had a stove removed and the fireplace filled with granite blocks, then plastered over. This was about two weeks ago, maybe three.

    I asked them to put an air brick in but they insisted that was a bad idea. They were supposed to cover chimney with a cowl but haven't yet and there has been heavy rain. I think they stuffed some rockwool into the old flue from the stove.

    Today there is a crack along where the top of the fireplace was. What would have caused this?
