Can someone recommend an app for cooking/recipes please. Free if possible!
I can recommend Ratio, which isn't free, but isn't expensive (€3.99). It's not recipes, it contains ratios that form the basis of recipes, with a conversion calculator and help on using the ratios. For example: say you have one egg and you want to make fresh pasta, this tells you how much flour to use and how to make the pasta. The details are up to you e.g. add spinach if you like.

Other free apps I've enjoyed recently:
    • Icy Escort (platform game with a twist)
    • Seadragon: Microsoft's experimental image browser lets you view gigapixel images online without massive downloads
    • Sky News
    • FStream (audio streams)
    • Shakespeare (complete works)
    • EasyBeats LE (drum machine)

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

The best ones that I use are:
    • Facebook - keeping it social!
    • Mobile TV - €7 per month and I have all the following channels live! sky sports 1,2,3,xtra, Sky news, Sky sports news, at the races and ESPN. Minimum subscription is 1 month and its f**kin A+!!
    • Sky News, NY Times, RTE News - all news related
    • Engadget - Loads of cool articles on all types of up and coming gadgets.
    • IMDB - One of my favourite movie websites....in mobile form!
    • Amazon.co.uk - Can buy stuff on the way home on the bus with one click!
    • EirText - Automatically logs into my Vodafone webtext and allows me to send my free texts through a nice UI.
    • Wikipedia - Any useless piece of info I need, Wiki has it.
    • Football SC - Gives up to the minutes scores on all football matches in loads of european football leagues, latest league tables, match text commentary, scorers, etc..
    • Newstalk\2FM\Today FM - Can be hit and miss in 3g areas but perfect in wireless.
    • Shazam - Hold your phone to the radio if you hear a song you like and it tells you the name of the song\artist!!
Oh, and except for Mobile TV, all of the above are free!

To do's- a to do list, can enter details, priorities (high, medium, low)
accounts- use it for betting to keep track of bets and categories

    all are free

Ok, obviously missed something there. I thought when someone wrote "Masters App 2010" with no explanation as to why they were saying it, directly after my question, that it was an answer to my question. Apparently not...

Anyway, does anyone know of a good data-entry app?

Try iSpreadsheet free, it's fully functional apart from ads, so shouldn't be a much problem.

Does any one know of a good app that acts like an organiser, similar to one one a nokia phone.
It will alarm before the meeting or task that you must do.

I always used this feature on my old nokia, and I find the calender on the iPhone very clumsey.

Muziic is a great App. It is basically the Youtube app, but with continous playback. You search for any music video, Muziic takes the video from Youtube, you put them in a Playlist and they play with no gap. The App is free too.

Dman, this is an incredible app. I thank you so much :) It not only lets you make your own playlist, you can listen to artists full albums, listen to featured playlist (everything in the charts now) and you can listen to albums such as best of the 80's etc by just pressing play once and letting it play right through.

One of the best apps I think there is. Some good stuff on youtube that may be hard to find elsewhere.

It's good alright, but nothing compared to the actual website. Pity it hasn't the same layout, but Apple probably wouldn't of allowed it if it did.

Im actually surprised Apple allowed it, even though it is technically legal.

Does it work with 3G only or do you need the wireless to be on?

I used the nokia orginiser a lot and never used gmail calander. Now with iphone sync'd to gmail calander I am using it way more than previously with Nokia. I does everything nokia had and way more. Dont know about setting alarms with the standard iphone calander but defo has alarms/reminders with gmail.
