One reason Ryanair only lost like 200 Million in June quarter was that they didn't refund customers. They sent out vouchers instead.

Let's wait and see the quarter ending September results, my bet is they will be worse and the December quarter will be a total disaster. I assume nearly no travel during the coming second wave + flue season.

I see Aurora Cannabis are down 86% in the last year !

Is stock like this not worth touching until at least after the US Presidential election ?

Or would you not go near it full stop ?

Not in a million years IMO. Stock is down 96% from its last attempt at a run in March 2019, has been in a downtrend since then. There's a reason it's down so much for so long...

CRLBF, GTBIF, TCNNF are better alternatives showing relative strength if you must look at Cannabis stocks. They have proven themselves recently, they are not in a position to buy now but may be worth watching for the future if they build a proper base. Personally I wouldn't even have these on my watchlist as technically they are still a ways away from purchase and the fundamentals are weak. Far better looking stocks out there

Vouchers are liabilities to the company. Their profit or loss is not related to outstanding vouchers. There is nothing about these vouchers that a company could claim to be recognised income until the voucher\credit is redeemed.

Really can you give us the reference to this change in accounting policy, they are required to disclose such a change so please enlighten us, as I can't find any reference to it.

For all the talk of "the markets were up huge in August and bad September", I'm up more in Sept than August. Though that's probably a reflection of a below average August for me

Anyways to balance off this part of the portfolio (edit gun stocks) Ive taken a large position in the BLM movement.
Picked up some BYFC (Broadway Financial currnetly $2.37) and CARV (Carver Banking group currently $7.11), a few weeks ago both black owned banking companys. Netflix already announced they are moving $100 million in deposits to black owned banks, and I expect other major multi-nationals to follow suit.
I averaged down on both and have taken some profit off the table as both of these are day traders dreams with major run ups and drops which I have played, but for now I think these 2 companies are long term holds.
UONE (is a black owned social media and radio company) I dont own any but some people are speculating they will grow with BLM growth. But BYFC and CARV are my main BLM plays

If the A-listers and multi-nationals are serious about supporting the BLM movement sooner or later serious money will have to flow to these 2.
Scared money dont make money so this is only for the brave.
    .
anyone listening back in July ..

    CARV - 7.18+1.62 (+29.14%)
    BYFC - 2.0800+0.6400 (+44.44%)

    ..sweet...
nice double digit gains late Friday . Just needed some patience. Anyone follow

Thanks to the TRump Administration - 500 billion investment in Black owned buisness, the growth hasnt been priced in . and the bill hasnt been signed yet. These will blow once it has.
Dont look for much coverage in the main stream news of this backing from Trump administration for black communities.
Gotta love when your investments in social development come good.

This has been mentioned on stocktwits too. Good old electioneering to make even FF blush.

I trust it works out better than the promised Kodak loan. Hard to see the Dem oppose it for political reasons.

They are in a better position than many airlines for sure, but it is hard to say with strong certainty that they will come out of it unscathed.

None of us knows how much longer this will last and what the medium/long term impact might be on the airline industry. I suspect the impact is already a bit deeper and longer than what most investors had in mind just a few weeks/months ago.

Exactly... so they would generally spend their 2k on a road bike/ tt bike/ winter bike/ competition bike ahead of a stationary bike...

Either way, if there are cyclists who would do that, I wouldn't have thought there would be enough numbers doing so to make company so successful...

FYI, Peloton isn’t only cycling/spinning, it includes strength and conditioning, yoga, boot camps, stretching, running, cardio etc. It’s like a gym at home and has a monthly sub, so great biz model and a great product that’s not easy to replicate. Zwift is specifically for cyclists while peloton appeals to a wider audience.

INO ($16.52) very heavily shorted shorts, circa 30% of float, but they cant hold it back forever. I believe in their science, their DNA platform has a number of products in late stage trials. The big play is their very safe Covid vaccine. Playing catchup on the early Covid vaccine runners but they may win a big chunk of the prize or potentially bought out in the next 24 months, expecting major news in the next 2-3 weeks.

looks like I might take a beating on this one. Think it will be temporary.
Stock is crashing this morning due to FDA putting a 'partial hold' on going into phase 3. Not like in the AZN case which was due to reaction in patients.
    somethings fishy going on here
$500 million dollars shorted at $10 and the week when they are meant to announce going into phase 3 trials the FDA comes along and pulls the plug.
    Somebody playing dirty.
Ah well looks like its my patience versus Wall St manipulation and theres only going to be one winner there.

Hold tough lads. Most Clinical holds get overturned quickly enough. It's not like the FDA see themselves as rubber stampers, so need to justify their existence.

I am still holding some INO for the long term, the panic selling is hilarious ;)
I see another Electric Truck company will be appearing on the scene today - https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/10/a-new-electric-truck-stock-is-hitting-the-market.html
Big push premarket on the SHLL stocks over the weekend. I wonder if this truck will roll downhill as well like a classic pump and dump :)

Indeed the complaint is over their propietary device they use to adminster their vaccines, this device has been used and approved by the FDA for multiple previous trials by INO and the DOD bought $70 million worth of them a few months back so this hold up is a red herring

INO has recovered some bit, which tells me it was an epic head fake by Wall St with a little help from some friends in the FDA , all to cover their mega short exposure. The drop hasnt held , theres a floor holding strong.
But this issue could still take 30 days or more to resolve.
Welcome to the wild west of bio-pharma investing .

Kicking myself over Jfrog (Artifactory) FROG (up 10% today), when we had SUMO, FROG, Unity and SNOWFLAKE all IPO'ing a few weeks back, FROG was the pick of the bunch, good product, good companies using it and breaking even which is unheard of for a cloud devops play these days, but the IPO price was too rich I thought, I expected a pull back to jump in and hold for 6 months, but that hasnt happened.
U-SUMO-FROG-SNOW - combined losses over 1 billion , never made a profit (open to correction) combined valuation over 100 billion.
Morale of the story if you think a tech stock is over-priced for their balance sheet.. Wall St says think again

RXT Rackspace - 18.33 currently trading bang in the middle of
    50 DMA 18.47
    200 DMA 18.26
Am holding them as someone is going to buy them out eventually. Apple were rumoured to be interested.
The Covid driven momentum move to cloud demands physical infrastructure , 5G will drive consumer demand . Which all leads to off prem physical data centres and lots of em

As we all know there is no such thing as the cloud , its just somebody elses computer :)

INTC ($50) picked some up sub 48 a few weeks back , backing them to be a solid place to park some cash for the next 12 months with potential to grow if Wall St ever figures out what an EPS over $5 really means.
AMD/NVIDIA are over-hyped sp's its not all about first to 7nm, I still think INTEL have some cards up their sleeves including mobileeye and 5G products

NYCTL (£4) - Covid testing play , ridden this thru its peaks , expecting major RNS in the coming weeks, as it moves to a mid-cap company , on many big pharma people takeover radar.

Meant to add ODX (76p) to that list yesterday. Its volatile, jumped 8% today but ones always at the mercy of the MMs.
Theres a number of UK based Covid Testing plays, ODX and NYCT are mine.
NYCT are working on a multi infection kit, WINTERPLEX , one test will identfy both Covid and Influenza to simplify testing.
At some point Boris and Operation Moonshot has to cause one of these players to pop.

boom contract landed , announcement yesterday .. :)
I wonder what todays opening price will be, indications are £5.25 ... trading at £4.67 yesterday in London its AIM listed but you can trade it in Paris also .
Paris, France and Camberley, UK - 29 September 2020 - Novacyt (EURONEXT GROWTH: ALNOV; AIM: NCYT), an international specialist in clinical diagnostics, announces it has signed a new supply contract with the UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) for its q16 and q32 Rapid-PCR instrument platforms, exsig® COVID-19 Direct kits and genesig® SARS-CoV-2 Winterplex kits...This first phase of the contract will involve the immediate deployment of 300 PCR instruments, related kits and support services with a minimum value of £150 million for the first 14 weeks

double boom ... new CE approved serology test...
Paris, France and Camberley, UK - 29 September 2020 - Novacyt, an international specialist in clinical diagnostics, announces that, further to the announcement on 27 July 2020, the Company has launched a CE-Mark approved serology (antibody) 96-well plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) test for the detection of IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 derived from plasma and serum samples.

will exit ODX , top slice some NYCT and let the rest sit. The Abott 15 min test Trump admin demonstrated at the presser yesterday could be agame changer

    EDIT:
    triple boom ..
another plus on the NOVACYT spike is the computer quants will get burned, Voleon a supposedly AI short machine managed fund had a large short position on NYCT, 700,000 shares to cover. I wonder what HAL is saying this morning...

As someone who deals with Cloud infrastructure, it still amazes me when end users have an outage and wonder why cause they are sitting in the cloud - some just don't get that there infrastructure is sitting on poor AWS hardware in a datacenter somewhere in the world :)

Just saw that the Invesco Solar Energy ETF is up 180% since it's March lows, 100% YTD, what are people's opinions on solar energy? You would think that over the next few years most new houses would have solar panels or are they just not feasible for households?

    Altria group. Thoughts?
I know people on here generally aren't attracted by dividends but they offer a relatively safe 9% dividend. I am a bit worried that they are over reliant on us market and their relatively high level of debt, but overall I feel that very little has to go right for them to be a decent investment
