Travelling to Ireland via an EU country not on the quarantine list

    Hi,

I'm currently in Spain, which is the 7th lowest in terms of Covid cases per 100,000 people in Europe as per latest figures yesterday. I've been here for the last 6 months as I've genuinely been supporting a family member with terminal cancer.

I've a flight booked back to Dublin for next Friday. I'm concerned that Spain could be added to a mandatory hotel quarantine list in the meantime. I've two questions.

    (1) If additional countries are announced next Tuesday, do you think it is likely that they'll apply the rules immediately or will there be some time between the announcement and implementation?

    (2) If Spain is on the list but Portugal isn't and I therefore travel across the border to fly home from Lisbon is there any way for the authorities in Dublin to know that I haven't been in Portugal all the time? My passport should not be stamped when traveling from Spain to Portugal and therefore is the only way for authorities in Dublin to know my whereabouts in the previous 14 days is to check through my bank transactions? And can they legally ask to look at my bank transactions?

    Thank you

Looks like you had nothing to worry about

There will be several days notice of any change so you are fine

You are required to complete the passenger tracing form and this explicitly asks where you have been in the last 14 days. False information will result in a conviction

    Hello,

I've now had both my vaccinations and would like to plan travel to Ireland (with my child not vaccinated) to visit family we have living there. So basically take precautions on journey, travel from airport to family home and maybe go to beach and parks but not much else. My home country is not on the red list as far as I'm aware.

Is there anything I should be aware off? Is there any possibility for us to visit?

    Thanks.

You still have to self isolate for 14 days, you just skip the hotel part.
