i bought one and tried it out. not great yet, but have a few more steps to do before rejecting it.

    like:

    1) installation was easy

    2) they have a detailed manual to attempt supporting many types of curtains/rods/rails.

    challenge:

    1) not as fast, quiet, or powerful as one would imagine.

    2) reviews etc. say doesn't work well for telescopic rods. although they have a accessory to make it easier to work on telescopic rods and i think this accessory was not used by most online reviewers since switchbot has been improving their kit gradually.

    3) need a hub otherwise very limited capabilities.

    more possibilities:

    1) i have it on a wrought iron curtain rod. so maybe that causes a lot of friction. I am replacing some other rods, so will see whether I can try out on that.

    2) if that doesn't work, then they have some clips given to use for eyelet curtains. need to try that and see if that helps.

if neither help, then i'll return it.

    i took a video too

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but anybody else have experience with switch bot? Contemplating getting one (or slightly cheaper one from Temu), but unsure how good it is.

Can you set up schedules without having the hub? (I don't want another bloody hub in the house ha).

    Cheers!
