A good overcoat

    Gents,

I'm looking to buy a "good" heavy winter overcoat in either the Black Friday or
    New Year sales.

For workwear (suit every day), I want one that will see me to retirement in 15/20 years! Plain enough, navy or black as they won't go out of fashion.

I'm happy to pay around the €500 mark for a good one. I had a Bugatti one but felt that it was a bit sub-standard.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks!!

I bought a reproduction M40 pattern wool field grey Wehrmacht great coat online. It looks gorgeous and very warm.

    Lots of choice......

Personally, I'd avoid a 'heavy' overcoat. Technology has moved on IMO and you can now get a smart, lightweight, warm and water-resistant coat that looks well....

Still, traditional clothing has its benefits, and it depends on your own taste and where you'll wear it too....
