    Nice bike KildareMan
What's she like on the road? How many miles you put up?

Now I've got new tyres - Michelin Pilot Road 5 Trails fitted - Superbly.

87,500+ km and counting. Today was our 9th Anniversary ride (doesn't sound right but hay ho)

    Throttle cables rule.

I was considering creating a Photorally thread but didn't know if there was anyone else on here that did it! I started a couple of weeks ago but only have one done so far - I'll try post the pic later. Great photos KildareMan!

You must drive real slow. Haha

If youre in the Dublin/ kildare area the 3 above can be done in a single spin.

I know this is photorally non centric...but can I ask you how she's behaved over those 87.5k?

Only left me calling recovery once -known issue - locking tab for front sprocket nut broke, nut loosened off, sprocket off & no drive - with me on the loop joining the m50v from the n7. Shortest recovery ever to TRiumph at next junction. Bend TWO tabs on the washer.
Also had the return spring peg fail - another known issue. On down changes the gear lever won't return to the central position. Doesn't stop you riding as you can hook the lever back up with the welt of your boot. Strip, drill & tap peg to M5, some loctite and reassembly and you are good to go.
Had other normal issues like a fork seal go etc etc. Nothing else unusal or keeping the bike off the road for long periods. Heck I'm even on the original battery still.
Would say Triumph servicing costs can be eye watering - especially 12K so try and do it all myself.

All entirely forgivable niggles there, she's been a really reliable machine from the sound of things! Will you keep or upgrade?

Would be rude not to keep for at least another year and maybe 100,000km. I'm past worrying about value tbh. Some nice new bikes around but the 800 does it all. It really flys when you want to and handles better than you'd expect from an "adventure" bike.

I do multiple points sometimes but i like taking my time and stretching them out a bit. Im happy enough if i can do enough just to enter - if i can ill try for the 18 but i wont be upset if i cant manage it! Just a great excuse to head out for a spin

I got a few in today. There's some mad backroads via Google maps on the Clare - Tipp route.

I'd be less tired if I'd cycled it.

There's definitely a few spots where it feels like they pick them because of the routes.

Did 11, 12 & 17 on Friday. Just working on the photos so those to follow. Grand day of social isolation as I only spoke to 3 people all day. Was trying out the new Beeline also. Worked great once you get used to not seeing a map and trusting the display.
375km and the heated grips on all day. Chilly.

Did 16 on Thursday, first bike outing this year and it was the nearest one to me. Some very narrow roads, precarious pulling in for meeting traffic. R1200GS is a heavy beast!

I was looking at these, and decided to just install a charger for the phone and a mount instead, thought the beeline was expensive for what it does and using maps on the phone hasn't let me down, even when driving through mountains.
That said, it looks cool and I sorta still want one :D
