What would you reccomend for someone who has never flown further than spain to get through a 7hr flight (plus the wait time in the airport beforehand!)
Looked at nicorette mist and gum but never used them before

Don't get too worked up about it and you will be fine.

Getting anxious will make you just crave a cig.

I'm sure you are well able for it, cravings always pass in a matter of seconds. Deep breaths, enjoy the flight, enjoy the fact that you're suppressing the cravings.

Get a good slosh on before boarding the plane and sleep through the trip. Typically what I do anyway. Bonus points for a pain killer or muscle relaxer.

Notify the crew not to wake you, as some airlines give you a nudge when the food gets served

But don't do this if you are driving when you get off the plane in the USA.

Just to let you's know - it was absolutely fine - didn't use gum or anything, just got on with it and it was nowhere near as bad as i thought it would be!
