They should remove UK VAT on export to Ireland and then Irish VAT will be applied on entry into Ireland.

Hi,

Did I see on here a while ago a Longines watch with arabic numerals for under 500 euro. I had a nice watch that was gold plated that was given to me for my 21st a ahem while ago and of course it's gone and would love to have a similar but maybe steel case as don't want it to fade. I think it was a 40 mm.

Maybe someone can refresh or give me some direction.

The price should change when you add an Irish address for delivery as our VAT is different to UK. If the price doesn't change you are paying UK VAT and will have to pay Irish VAT when it gets here.

Exactly. Put item in your cart and at checkout more likely than not will you see which is the case.

Tip for someone with Amazon prime free delivery: any item coming into the EU with a value of €22 or below, the VAT will not be collected

So if you order an item from Amazon.co.uk worth £19.95 or less, put it in your cart, you will see the price drop by the deducted UK VAT to about £16.60. Then no Irish VAT is added, so you get the item with a significant discount, courtesy of the UK tax payer

I put coffee scales in for the craic at £19.99 , import duties is being added at £4.20

So total is £24.19

I bought a steel mesh bracelet that was listed as £14.99. When it appeared in the checkout it was still £14.99 but VAT was 0.00 and I paid €17.00 on my credit card. With Prime membership the p&p was zero so happy with paying that. Hopefully the quality of the item won't disappoint.

That's an item sold by XXYYZZ and fulfilled by Amazon - seems like for many non-Amazon "sold by" items - they don't have the same "remove UK VAT" system in place when you give an Irish address.

I have no clue what impact Brexit will have on this ones validity as a "Deal" other than I suppose factor in plus 21% on pre-March delivery, but a Breitling Colt at sub £2k new is not to be sniffed at IMO.

There shouldn't be much difference as the UK seller should remove UK Vat before Irish customs adds on Irish VAT on import.

The base price ($47) is fairly standard for the MDV in the US, so this is only a bargain in the sense of the reasonable shipping and not having to worry about inflated clearance fees etc. It's not a huge bargain but might be the last chance to get one with the Marlin logo for this price.

Not huge, but if using a courier the Irish vat is charged on the UK price + shipping, then there is a brokerage fee and 'fuel surcharge fee'.

I like Doxas, but only some of them in the pro range (orange). That one in your link is an entry level model, a bit cheap looking and your man wants pretty much the full retail price for a second hand watch that is not hard to get new. So far from a bargain in my book. And even if it was a bargain, I wouldn't be interested.

There's a good value 1500T pro on TZ at the moment. Only up a few days and he has dropped his price a few times already. If it wasn't for the Brexit, I might have made him an offer.

I'm presuming that you aren't trolling and it's a genuine question. That brand is pure junk. It's basically a 20 euro Ali express watch rebranded. If you are looking for something cheap and a similar look just go on to aliexpress and you will likely find the exact same watch and just get it there. That is a genuine discount from the usual rrp though.

Nope, not trolling, was looking for something to buy for a friends birthday and liked the look of it, thought I'd throw the question out in here to the watch experts, ya just saved me 55quid, I'll get him a bag O cans :pac:

The brand is amazing!…at marketing.

Movado bought them for $10(?) million dollars a few years ago if I remember correctly.

I put them in the same category as Daniel Wellington and Filippo Loreti watches - similar can be had for a lot less on Aliexpress like Red states.

If you like the design it's not a terrible price but you probably won't get more than 15 euro for it if you ever wish to sell it - which if you only paid 50 euro for it and get 2-3 years enjoyment wearing it then hey it's a low cost.

But the brand name of MVMT would actually be a negative in many watch lovers' eyes and as Red says you might get similar for around 15-20 euro directly on aliexpress.

You can go on Aliexpress and get the exact same watches MVMT sell without the branding for less than a tenner, movement just mark them up to pay their marketing and youtube shills.....but a bag o cans it way better than one of those sh1tters.
