    As the first thread is getting towards 10,000 posts this is the follow up to that thread

    Any threadbans from the original thread carry over to this one. Please PM to discuss if you do wish to be able to post again

    Stop all the tit for tat stuff on the stats. None of us are in full possession of the facts and none of us can draw any "definitive" conclusions. Bottom line. It's serious. Not serious in Ireland at this stage, but may become so. Anyone caught up in this is not going to take much solace from any stats however they are complied

    Now speculate away. Beware of conspiracy theories and treat everything claimed in this thread with suspicion unless someone provides verifiable and reliable sources

    Messy short term, but markets will pick up certainly once this is fully understood and the numbers affected are receding. Of course no-one knows when that will be.

    In the meantime if anyone wants any gold I know someone with a stash of it.....

    $474 billion wiped from European Markets CAC/DAX both down 4%, FTSE 3.5%
    US is currently getting battered around 3.5% negative on main live markets.

    Expect much of the same tommorow, but hopefully not as bad as some will (rightly or wrongly) view it as an opportunity to purchase.

    It’s up considerably more than that since covid started, and since it went outside China, and since they had cases in the US.

    Perhaps back then the markets thought covid was a good thing.

    Or maybe, I dunno, the movement of markets is multifactorial and complex, and not explained by a single issue.

    Gold was already on the way up because of fiat ****ery and repo madness and people copping onto the Chinese funny money then this thing hits :O

    Here's hoping that Spring (if we have one) will drastically reduce the rate of incidence.

    This is slightly by the by but you'd have to wonder if commerce will take a dark view of China from here on, this is far from the first such virus to originate from there. If the wider global economy takes a sustained hit it might suppress doing business there in the longer term.

    It would be nice if, say, Italy, Iran, SK gave an indication of how many people tested negative; even if that isn't wholly reliable, it would give a better idea of prevalence..

    Dr. John Campbell is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing studies at the University of Cumbria. He has been a clinical nurse and a nurse tutor for over 30 years

    So not a doctor as most people would think of the title

    So lads, why hasn't the Singapore dollar, Thai baht etc fallen against the Euro? SGD already fell against the USD.

    Surely there's some Forex educated people here to explain.

    Where's the chap from the previous thread who's been self isolating? Thread got so busy I lost track.. he'd gotten a taxi from the airport and then had contact with his dad and a housemate..who works in a hospital...
