    Hi,

Does anyone use the Network Assisted GPS on their N95. The reason I ask is how much data does it consume?

I have a 500MB data add-on with Vodafone. Does the assisted GPS use a considerable amount of data or would I be safe enough in using it ?

Find out for yourself. Go into logs and check how much data was transmitted.

it's not going to use 500mb - assistance is for traffic reports etc which should not be be that significant in terms of data usage.
but bear in mind that data add-ons are not usually valid abroad where data charges can be huge so turn off the assistance part when abroad if using gps...

I use the network assisted GPS and don't see the data usage on my three online account, it is a very small amount only in the kb and not the mb region. Used it for maybe 10hours or more this month as I use both sports tracker and nokia maps.

Don't think u will have any problem with mad data usage and from what I have read it does speed up the GPS lock and should be left on except when abroad where as glasso mentioned could be expensive.

its free to download both software and maps but you have to pay to unlock them unless you have the key gen which i have, hey any mod's out there- could i start a thread with links for free garmin xt on the n95 or would that get me in trouble, or just pm me for installation instructions and key gen?

Come on lads. No keygen posts. You can't post them here. PADRAIC.M has been banned for it!
