    Hello
Hope you all are keeping well and safe,

My daughter is an anime fan and working very well her skills to draw Her favorite characters.

She is doing watercolors on A4 paper.

She though about selling them on eBay but Her concern is copyrights.

She is good regarding Her own rights as the person painting the watercolors, but Her concerns is about infringement the Anime rights drawing their characters.

    Any advise on this scenario?

    Thanks
    Fran

It is illegal to sell "fanart" of anime characters, but you still see it happening (according to Google) at cons, because the owners of the characters (in Japan) couldn't be bothered as the profit would be so small for the fanartist in comparison to how much it would cost to bring them to court. Selling online could be different though, easier to track and tackle.

There are some sites that allow you to have your fanart published on, say, tshirts, Qwertee being the most noticable (and Irish). But it's still down to a popularity contest if the design gets picked.

Quick answer: It's illegal to sell anything that includes an original character without permission of the copyright owner
