Looking for help changing hair colour on a pic

My sons hair is red but the pictures have it as a really bright red which it’s not. I asked them if anything could be done to try to calm the colour down a big t but was told no. Should be an easy fix in photoshop if you have the file and it's reasonably hi res. The shop should do it but probably won't. If you still need it fixing I could have a look if you want to send the file.
