The Daily Telegraph dances on John Hume’s Grave

The Daily Telegraph has just published an obituary of John Hume which is a despicable attack on the greatest Irishman of modern times.
'he sought readier ears in Washington, into whose “Murphia” he fitted like an overweight, hard-drinking Celtic poet who had lost his muse and found a bursary'

Perhaps John would have relished an attack from the Tory bible - he never sought their approval - but he is not here to answer their lies (and libelling the dead is the lowest form of free speech). As we prepare to bury the man who did more than anyone to bring peace and reconciliation to this island, the Irish people shouldn’t put up with such derogatory treatment. Even Boris Johnson would have hesitated to write this tripe for his erstwhile employers. It is an egregious distortion of Hume’s legacy which must not go unanswered.

No one in the DT gives a curse about Irish public opinion. How about a riposte from Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter?

I see it’s been edited and watered down online. Let them eat plenty more of their words!

Being attacked by the Daily Telegraph is almost guaranteed if you are anyway a half decent human being. I’d almost go so far as to say, that if the DT wrote your obituary and they didn’t attack you, your ghost would have good grounds to look back at the mess you made of your life.

Well, not being content with the original hit piece, the DT seem intent on digging themselves further into the hole. This time a dead man is being used to bash the EU 'unelected Brussels elites'.
