Peugeot museum restorations

A while back there was a story on pistonheads about Peugeot offering a restoration service through its museum. I did some more reading on this today.

    https://www.taketotheroad.co.uk/peugeot-announces-restoration-program-starting-with-205-gti/

    https://laventurepeugeotcitroends.fr/

Parts also being sold - on the .fr site above there are hundreds of parts for various Peugeot models e.g. 611 parts listed for the 106.

Not sure what to make of this, is it a great development? One of these restorations certainly won't come cheap, I'd imagine that the main market for them would be people with loads of money who own cars that are of sentimental value/family heirlooms.

Would a concours enthusiast jizz themselves at the prospect of sending a car back to an official Peugeot museum for restoration?

I seem to remember hearing that Mercedes offers something similar?

Mercedes in Germany do offer this service but you’d want to have won the lotto before asking them for a quote!
