6 year old needing tooth extraction

    Hi All,
We took our 6-year-old daughter to a private pediatric dentist. It turns out that she has a condition causing her back teeth to decay. They have told us we will need to get 4 of them extracted and spacers put in, luckily the adult teeth don't seem to be affected.
So we got a quote for the surgery where they want to put her to sleep which comes in around 4000eur. We can't afford this. My daughter is now in a little pain and it seems to be getting worse.
Does anyone know of the best option whether it be the HSE or somewhere cheaper than 4k?
    thanks.

Hi. Unfortunately the bulk of the cost is associated with the general anaesthesia and the private hospital/Clinic providing it. It certainly would be vastly less expensive if it was done with local anaesthetic, but that has obvious challenges/drawbacks if your daughter is nervous. You can contact your local HSE clinic, they may be able to help but in all likelihood your daughter will be placed on a waiting list for treatment. Try the HSE, you might get lucky.
