Hi, what calendars would you suggest that give a month by month guide to astronomical events please?Not after one with fancy photographs (not that theres anything wrong with fancy photographs) but one that gives relevant info on whats to see up there as well as being a usable calendar too. Thanks for any recommendations.

Make sure you stay with 2-3 weather forecasting sites open on your device,as well !

Ha ha, yeah thats why I mentioned it should be a 'useable' calendar too Rolion, to mark dates, appointments, holidays, etc.The idea of an astronomy exclusive calendar hanging on an Irish kitchen wall is the very definition of optimism!

Hi everyone,

Hope you are having a good summer.

Many thanks for highlighting the pdf calendar. I've all the data for the 2020 edition compiled since last April. Feel free to make any suggestions regarding the layout, content (is the 2019 one too detailed? Requires a better glossary? etc.), and even the photo theme! There are currently about 650 entries for the calendar in the Excel spreadsheet compiled. That includes Moon phases, conjunctions, anniversary dates, events, bank/other holidays, meteors and comets, and space mission launch dates.

One item worth mentioning is the Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn on December 21st 2020 when the two will be about 6 arc-minutes apart! They pair up every 20 years and this is the best one until the year 2080! Also, predictions suggest the asteroid (4) Vesta will occult a magnitude 5.6 star in Aries (28 seconds duration) for observers on a track crossing the northern tip of Ireland on the evening of February 11th next.
