Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

precast concrete flooring

    can somebody give me advice on this precast concrete flooring is it cost affective ? and what are the pros and cons ? is timber better ???

    Why do you need to use it?

    Can't you just infill with hardcore?
    The main reason for using a suspended ground floor is if the hardcore infill would exceed around 0.9m.

    In terms of whether it is better than wood, it depends on what you are going to use the ground floor for, what the access to the site is etc. Precast floors need to be lifted into position so you would need access for heavy machinery. Wood is easier but you have the problem then of ensuring that the underfloor area is ventilated to stop it from rotting.....

    one possibility as to why it might be needed is UFH (possible with timber too but easier and advisable for use with concrete). Can anyone offer a price comparison.

    The OP is probably referring to first floor. But clarification/confirmation would be appreciated.
