Right so I'll try make it short. I'm mad into the older cars and looking at buying a Corolla GTI at some stage next year but insurance on such an old car might be an issue. I'm 21 , 2 years NCB on a full clean license. I've heard of young fellas like myself going down the road of getting third party extension so they can get classic insurance on an old car. Has anyone here done that? More information be appreciated please. On a side note I was talking to a guy a year younger than me who just had his Mother classic insure his skyline and he has third party extension.

Several things to be aware of:

    - Alot of insurance companies require you to have a "primary vehicle" in addition to a classic policy
    - You will more than likely have limited mileage allowance
    - Insurance companies are well aware of the whole "third party extension" trick. Whilst you may have an insurance disk and cert, if anything happens, be prepared for the insurance company to cancel the whole policy as a result.
    - Alot of them wont insurance anyone under 25 years of age
    - Alot of of the companies wont insure "every day/mass produced" vehicles, which the Corolla will probably sit under.
