This Friday 29/10/10 at 7.45pm at Morton Stadium Santry, Sporting Fingal's last game of the season is a pay what you want game. So you can pay as little as 1c or up to 50 euro, you decide.

The club needs the support of the Fingal community as we are looking to finish third. Not bad for our first year in the top flight. Finishing third will guarantee the club European football next season and a large crowd will definitley help the team to get the victory we need.

Here is a link to the pay what you want promotion

Here is the league table going into the final round of games

    Hope to see you there.

    Human Library Event
    Balbriggan Library
    Saturday 13th November 11.00am-2.00pm

The Human Library offers the opportunity to challenge assumptions and stereotypes in an informal, innovative and fun way.

The Human Library works quite like a normal library – library members come to the library and borrow a 'book'- but with one major difference - the 'books' in the Human Library are human beings who are frequently confronted with assumptions and stereotypes.
These ‘books’ can be borrowed for 20 minutes for an informal chat in the library.

Human books on the day will include:
A person with mental health issues,
    Gay person
    Older person
    Community volunteer
    Grandparent
    Blind person,
Parent of a child with ADHD
    A French person
    Environmental Activist
    Community Garda
A person with a physical disability

More information on the human library organisation can be found at www.humanlibrary.org

    Hello fellow contrymen and women,

Me and my OH are attending a table quiz in Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan on the aforementioned date. It's only €20 per table so we've paid it already - just wondering if anyone is keen to join us, to make up a table of four!

We will be going regardless, because we're both extremely clever and right all the time. But because we're both right, all the time, we will probably break up next Friday.... so if you want to be there to witness it (Promise no tears, hopefully no fists, a lot of tantrums and sulky reunions) give us a shout!!

No seriously, just offering anyone who feels like a pub quiz to come along and join us that night. It's in aid of the local basketball club (Vikings), and while knowing what a basketball looks like right in your face (it will break your glasses) I don't play, will never play, but my friend and her kids all play, which is why I've heard about this quiz and why I am going.

Two people needed only, we've already paid so come have a few beers and put us wrong on every question and be run out of town with budgies mounted on flaming pitchforks...

I'm going to bed. I think I just articulated all my frequent, strange but wonderful dreams in this post.

    Let me know!! Open invation!

Balbriggan Cycling weekend coming up - details here

Friday will be a circuit of the town, starting at 7pm, for about an hour - I understand there will be some road closures.

Saturday starts at Man O' War at 4pm, then heads down to the R127 before heading back up past Milverton School to Black Hills and then heading back via Cross of the Cage towards the main road

Sunday starts at Ring Commons at 11, heading towards the Naul, then down to Ballyboughal then to join the R132, taking a left at Five Roads up towards the Nags Head to take a right to head back to Bog of the Ring

Expect some traffic disruption, as roads will be temporarily closed as the different groups of riders pass by
