We are in Galway with a toddler for what looks to be a wet weekend. Any suggestions on how to keep him occupied :)

I take it you're not in a hotel with a pool? Get in touch with a local one and spend a few hours there followed by lunch. There will be an indoor play area in Galway too but I don't know where. Connacht hotel is good with children and plenty of space.

Monkey business in knocknacarra or busy bees in oranmore are both soft play centres. Charlie Byrnes bookshop has a nice children's section with English and Irish books. Leisureland for swimming (the coffee shop used to have a small, free, soft play but I haven't been there since the refit.) Barna woods is good for a walk if it's raining as it's quite well covered by trees.

If you have a car, Loughwell Farm Park in Moycullen is meant to be brilliant - they're a pet farm with apparently lots of indoor actitivies and you can stay as long as you like.
