    The curse of Get Shorty.
James Gandolfini and now Dennis Farina.
    "The f***in' airport".

Surprised nobody else mentioned Get Shorty. He was fantastic in that. The best thing about the film.

I don't usually like to comment in these types of threads, but was a big fan of Dennis Farina. RIP.

    actress-1-400x240-20130816-080018-997.jpg

Actress Lisa Robin Kelly, best known for her role in That '70s Show, has died after years of battling drug addiction.
Her manager said the 43-year-old had died in a rehab facility on Wednesday night.
"Unfortunately Lisa Robin Kelly passed away last evening," Craig Wycoff told US media on Thursday.
"Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years.
"I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her.
"Last night she lost the battle."
Kelly rose to fame as Laurie Forman on That '70s Show, the hit sitcom that helped launch the careers of Ashton Kutcher, Topher Grace and Mila Kunis.
Kelly's character was the older sister of Eric Forman, played by Grace.
The show ran from 1998 to 2006 but Kelly left in 2003.
Since then she was often in the news for her drug addiction and other problems. She was recently arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

Ray Dolby died yesterday at the age of 80 (LA Times story). He was awarded two Oscars for his company's work on noise reduction and surround sound, among other technical advances that made films sound so much better.

Oh man, this one is surprisingly upsetting. Kumar Pallana, the man who was always a delightfully reassuring presence in Wes Anderson films, has passed away. His strange, wordless and touch bemused appearances gelled perfectly with Anderson's quirky delivery. He will be missed.

Time to bring this thread back up, sadly. Antonia Bird died a couple of days ago: British director with a lot of TV work on her plate, as well as feature films with Robert Carlyle such as Priest and Ravenous.

Today it was announced that Hal Needham has died: veteran stuntman whose directorial debut was Smokey & The Bandit. He and Burt Reynolds worked together several more times, including Hooper and The Cannonball Run.

I should also mention Lou Reed, who died today: not much of an actor, directed one short, but according to IMDB his songs have featured in 151 films. Renton's idea of a Perfect Day wasn't all that far from Reed's ...

Lou was ok acting in Paul Simons' Film "One Trick Pony" playing against type as a music mogul. He and Paul Simon were very close friends apparently.

Great series back in the day.

I thought Lewis collins was the coolest guy on TV in the 80's
Never went on to star in anything else decent (apart from who dares wins) which was a shame.
    Very young to die...

    RIP.

Graham Stark, died late last month at 91. One of those background actors that you remember from comedy movies such as Pink Panther and Those Magnifient Men in their Flying Machines. A keen and talented photographer on set too.

Holding these movies in "guilty pleasure" territory, I can only say this is a very sad loss.
He always seemed excited to be a part of, and humbled by the success of the F&F series.
