I am looking for beginner/intermediate jazz guitar lessons on the south side of Dublin. I have been playing jazz guitar on my own for 18 months teaching myself and I urgently need lessons. Anyone got any suggestions please?

Mike Neilsen
he is involved in Newpark but |I think teaches privately too. One of the best & most innovative jazz guitarists anywhere, not just Ireland. Also teaches theory. I'm a bassist and learned a lot from him during a 6 month period I went to Dublin weekly & got general theory lessons from him.

Thanks Madjack.
Anyone know how to contact him?
At this stage I actually know a moderate amount of theory (enough to do for now) but need help with everything else (technique and timing and just playing). Theory is the one thing I can do just on my own and from books.

thats what i thought but when someone explains it i find you learn 10 times quicker... as u get proper examples of records etc that demonstrate the theory etc.

Anyway u can call Newpark and they will give you his number, don't feel its very cool to put it on the forum. or u can email me...

cheers

I want to learn how to play some Blues at the guitar! Well, at least being shown the basics of it, I'm sure I can figure out the rest myself...
Anyone out here would be able to help??

Thanks

Jazz piano teacher in Galway

Hi there, good to see your post!

I'm currently looking for a good jazz piano teacher in Galway as I really want to get into it. Galway's very small compared to Dublin but hopefully one might be living here.
If you have any name it would be of great help.
Cheers
