Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Just thought I'd post some books I found useful when I started playing again about a year ago...

    Three books by Yasser Seirawan:
    Play Winning Chess
    Winning Chess Tactics
    Winning Chess Strategies

    After that I got another couple on tactics:
    John Bain: Chess Tactics for Students
    John Nunn: Learn Chess Tactics

    Another good book for complete games which is highly recommended is Irving Chernev's: Logical Chess Move by Move

    If I ever finish that lot I'll post what ever I move on to next :)
