1 BILLION MegaMillions Draw : 4am Irish time.

Argh, love to have a punt on this but Lottoland seems to have a minimum bet of six , i.e 42 euros.

Please correct me if I am wrong about this? I just wanted to get one ticket!

But the odds of winning this is nearly triple EuroMills at 302,575,350/1, so really can't see the point.
x5 balls between 1-70 and the megaball 1-25, unless you have a visionboard for this, it's hard work.

I wouldn't even play the regular EM's, just the Hotpick5 (at the very most) which is odds if about 2m/1.

Also Lottoland aren't offical vendors, and have a reduction for tax deductions 'or something'.

I.e. *Important: MegaMillions tiers 1 - 3 are subject to 38% reduction as per T&C's.
Tier 1 bets are paid out as a 30 year annuity or discounted lump sum at Lottoland's election.

Ah yeah, it was a looooong shot alright but there was a lot of fun on Twitter with everyone playing and I wanted to join the fray!

And I know you'll be shocked to hear I didn't win, got one number

Btw, the Americans don't get the full Billion either, many posts suggested that after 39% plus tax I think it was (?) they'd only get about half.
I only got the one ticket, but there were some mad posts of people clearing out a good chunk their of savings, etc, to play

It actually made the RTE news today on the radiooo.

Someone I know, who won the lotto back in the 80's would say, "you can't live on this sort of money, but it's a good start"

With lottoland, you don't actually play mega million. You are betting on the result.

They have a FAQ: https://www.lottoland.ie/megamillions/help

I would say good luck to get your money if you get the numbers right.

I would prefer to send money to an African prince to release my lucky inheritance.

The odds are indeed way out of any normal perception: 302,575,350/1

Bear in mind this has been running and un-won since Spring time, in a country of 325m.

In theory, you could play all combinations possible and be sure to win. It would cost around a billion so that leaves you with 600 millions.
The only problem is if someone else has the winning numbers as well.

I didn't bother with the draw this time, but one lucky winner in South Carolina has scooped the lot

Better news for them is they are in one of only 8 States where winners can remain anon.

How anonymous could you really stay if you suddenly become a billionaire

Exactly, way too much hassle!

There is a wee island off W.Cork for sale that would do for the summers, and just 7m or so. Stick a load of sharks around it, electric fences, and a dozen of the new Boston Dynamic running robots to encircle it checking for non-valid bio-metric visitors.
