Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Spring bulbs appearing already.....

    Hi all

    I planted a selection of spring bulbs.....daffodils, crocus, bluebell etc around the garden about 3 weeks ago. I was out in the garden earlier and I noticed some shoots appearing out of the ground already.

    Will the growth just slow up or can I expect spring flowers in Nov/Dec at this rate? :confused:

    Ultimately did I not plant them deep enough? Should I sink them a bit lower?

    Thoughts?

    Quite normal ;)

    You might find things settle out a bit after they have been in a year or so. Normally I like to get all my rough areas strimmed down close before the end of October as I know plenty of daffs will start pocking up shoots in early November.

    Completely normal. Mine always break ground in early October - daffodils, grape hyacinth, etc.
