Billy Corgan (of Smashing Pumpkins fame) bought the NWA a few months ago

The NWA world title will be defended on Sunday when Champion Tim Storm takes on Nick Aldis at a CWFHollywood show.

I enjoyed the "10 pounds of gold" series (linked above) and interested to see what Corgan does in the future.

Looks class, so much better than the LED overkill sh*te WWE loves.

Really hope their show goes well on Tuesday, and every week after, and that it is well recieved. The show is something Irish promotions maybe able to learn from.

Just a reminder that on the NWA YouTube channel tonight at 11:05pm Irish time the first episode of NWA power is streaming live(well not live live but you know what I mean) and it's all over the world no restrictions and it's available to watch on demand after it airs.

If you'd said a year ago that WWE would be on fox, wrestling would be back on tuner broadcasting live, and the NWA would be doing studio wrestling in Atlanta not far from where both Georgia championship wreslting and mid Atlantic were taped I'd have said you were nuts.

I really enjoyed Powerrr last night. Totally different but compelling

Btw the Austin idol video to plug his wrestling school was unreal. Haha

Only got a chance to catch it today and I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for posting this. Its brilliant.
Reminded me of the studio shows with Lance Russell back in the day.
Also, Nick Aldis' suit is a classic.

How did they get Michael Cera to partner with Jim Cornette?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,634 ✭✭✭RollieFingers

Really enjoyable, the production was great, gave off a very mid 80s NWA Mid Atlantic vibe.

I liked it as well and will keep watching for now. Great idea to put it on YT in order to reach the maximum possible audience.

Though having said that I can't really take James Storm seriously anymore.

    Absolutely loved it.

So cheesy. So hammy. So hokey.

Perfect rasslin in other words. The 1 hour format makes it easy to digest. It takes itself seriously without taking itself seriously if that makes sense. I enjoyed it.

Agree, the 1 hour format is really good and easy to digest.
I really like the first show. They are really pushing "this is MENS wrestling" and not boys :pac:

But you get what they mean. They aren't going to be showcasing younger guys. Guys in their 30s on-wards.

Hated it. Easily the worst presentation I've seen in many years of watching wrestling.

I get what they are doing, and it might be good in the flesh, but this novelty will wear off very fast on TV.

Another good episode, I like the pairing of Anderson and Cabana. Eddie Kingston is great on the mic too.

I think this is a great show especially if you are a fan of Netflix's GLOW show.
