Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Best college/university for studying English?

    What is generally considered to be the ideal college or university for studying English? I'm intrigued by what I've read about UCC, but I'm also curious about the places in Dublin and NUI Galway.

    What is the best university for studying for me? Is the real Question!


    Have you unlimited funds for accomodation and travel?
    What is accommodation like?
    How easy is it to commute to from home?
    What are the lecturers like? (Very important)
    What do lecturers say about the course (not very important, as they all blow their own courses trumpet)
    Where are all the past students 5/10/20 years from now? (Really important)

    Those are better questions to ask. Have you visited campus? I know of a guy who dropped out of Trinity doing a high profile course because he was lonely on campus. He was far from a failure and is now in TUD and is much happier on another high point course.
