I thought the bloke who played DS Arnott was tiny. Stephen Graham makes him look like Andre the giant.

Has only 2 episodes but 'The Comey Rule' was good with Brendan Gleeson frightenly good as Donald Trump.

Sky Atlantic have it as a 4 episode mini series as opposed to the original 2 episode Showtime series.

Not sure what territory Netflix would be have the rights for.

QUINCY- a top class music doc. I'm not a big bepop/hiphop fan but this was a great film. Happy to see brief cameos Willy Nelson and our brother Bono. Can't believe it took so long for an African-American Smithsonian museum to open. O Bararck is the the 21st Century USA president extraordinaire. Quincy does it all so well except marriage... fair play to him he gave up the drink at 80+ after a couple of near death expeirences. Qunicy is the cat...I'm looking forward to seeing the Crockofgold this weekend maybe Shane is the horse...

Prime has a better selection of movies especially older ones but the interface is shocking. I watched His Girl Friday on it the other night and discovered a whole load of other movies from that generation in the "others also watched".

I am well into season 3 of Teachers at the moment, it stars a young Andrew Lincoln from the Walking Dead. One of my kids couldn't believe it when they heard his real voice :)
Its about a group of young teachers in a secondary school, remember it when it first aired on normal tv so am enjoying watching it again.

Enjoyed it but failed to see why there was so much hype around Gleeson's performance - his mannerisms were good but the accent was way off on occasions.

Watched the Holiday Movies That Made Us.
They're interesting and give the lesser known ones a place to speak, but have to wonder if they try to get some of the main names.
Also I find the way the narrator keeps saying parts of sentences intercut with the person talking annoying.

Caught Mank this evening. It’s more in line with The Social Network than Fincher’s other work.. right up my alley. Was also a pleasure being immersed in its cynical, gossipy yet quietly affectionate take on 1930s/40s Hollywood. The visual panache is present and correct, enlivened by a real, obsessive commitment to emulating the look and sound of classic cinema and little winks and nods to Citizen Kane throughout.

It’s a surprisingly overtly political work, which is good... but it does have a tendency to meander in its second half particularly. Some of its layering and intercutting of flashbacks is a bit clunky, especially compared to something like Kane. But most of the time I was engrossed, and there are a few scenes that would rank among the absolute best of the year (there’s a stunning party scene which feels like the next level up from The Social Network’s classic opening scene).

Well recommended when it drops on Friday, but certainly worth a trip to the big screen to see it if you can / feel safe doing so.

Is there any way to change the settings so that you don't have to press yes to watch another episode after watching 3 episodes of a series. Always the same as can't find the remote and searching high and low. (I know obvious thing is to put remote on coffee table but where would the fun in that be).
