Wow! three whole years of experience! you must really know what you're doing, having seen all your work come back full healed after 2+ years. Maybe you should move up to the big smoke and show all the "professionals" who have been piercing for longer than you've been wiping your own arse, exactly how to do it

    Tazzybee:

A, which studio? Just in case I get mangled in the big smoke, or anywhere else in Ireland, and need repair.

B, what exactly have you done that's more "tricky" than the odd tongue or belly (as a piercer you should know that it's a piercing of the navel rim, l haven't heard of too many people impaling their own abdomen)? Anyone fancy joining me in getting some subclavians done in Gorey?

C, College, a year and a half as an intern and 3 years experience... You must be at the level of specialist registrar by now, oh wait, you're a piercer not a doctor. I must totally check out that degree course, it would beat the pants off having to convince a piercer that you're the right person for them to give you an apprenticeship and work hard building up a wide ranging portfolio of fresh and, most importantly, healed piercings.

hi Im a Body Piercer from gorey

I have my own studio and have been piercing for 3 yrs now and i can honestly say

I have so many people come from dublin that have been pierced by the likes of metal morphosis and snakebite and celestial ring and i am of the major opionion that they dont have a notion about piercings they might be a able to do the odd belly and tongue but ask for any tricky stuff and they go to pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

I'll take Snakesbites and Celestial Ring's professionalism and manners before you, thanks.

and is it gonna be anyway better then last year? cos it was such a let down after the years it was held in the community centre and then in the city hall.
Sorry you were so disappointed, everyone else seemed to enjoy it.We welcome any suggestions you might have on how we could improve the show to please everyone. As it is the biggest tattoo show in Ireland we always want to better ourselves.
Other than that we have many more artists this year including some of the USA and Irish top talent. Plus over 15 bands playing in the 2nd music marquee.
Hope to see you all there!

Can't find the original post but someone mentioned a Mark in Celestial Ring who does tattoos, I'm just wondering if thats right because the only Mark I know there is the piercer (unless he tattoos aswell) who by the way I highly recommend. He is a knowledgable guy who doesn't arse around!

Anyone here have any experiences with the Tattoo place in Newbridge, Kildare - good, bad or indifferent.
I'm booked in for my tattoo, but after talking to a few of the lads around town who got theirs done there - they're not great if there's colour involved in it. Aswell as that - it seemed to be on the cheap side (not a great sign).

As already posted in a different thread I got a new tatt today in Atattoed in Bray today. Brill. Excellent service. Spotless salon and although it was only 15 mins work for €50 well worth it for the professsional touch. Will be back. I think i am becomming addicted.

Hi, I have 4 tattoos - all small-medium. I got them done in different places around Waterford and Cork - I am based in Dungarvan. Problem that I have is that i have yet to find a shop and tattooist that i am really comfortable with - they were all nice and did a good job but i'd like to pick on one person and stick with them. I have decided to get a bigger piece - I know what I want and where I want it but would need someone able to help with the design.
    Can anyone recommend someone?? Thanks!!

If you're looking to go to Cork, I'd look into 7 Roses in Kinsale, it depends what you're looking to get done, Karen is well known for her colour work and Don's black work is pretty amazing. Both of them are awesome artists. There's a couple of other places in Cork worth looking into like tribal ink and tattoo zoo and holy cow in midleton.. Have a look through they're portfolios to get an idea of the work they do and see if you like it or not. As regards waterford, JMD's seems to be the place to go. And if you're still not happy, take a trip to Dublin or something and see do you like any of the artists up here.

Just checking to see what's going on here and I have noticed all you guys are talking about are relatively new studios.

Just want to mention Dragon Tattos Studion that has been in operation for over 20 years, and obviously, considering its time in business oes not need to advertise but anyone serious about a tattoo should go there. It is a family ru business with the owner Bren and his son, nephew and staff all being experts, and widely renowned amongst serious tattoists for skill, cleanliness and being very professional. You are unlikely to find anyone underage being tattooed as they have strict policies on this. I don't know how many of you have heard of them but I hav one one by Neill, which is absolutely great and anyone who asked about it had always heard of them. Highest on my recommendations. it's always best to go with someone who has a proven track record over such a long period.

where is this on talbot street exactly?

where would be a good place in double to get a large new skool style tattoo? i've been looking online but its better to ask from experience. the price doesnt matter but i would like someone who could design it from start to finish because although i know what i want i dont know if its possible.

Go to Metalworks and ask to look at Paulo and Victors portfolios. They are both excellent at doing fineline script. Seriously awesome!

I saw it too, haven't heard of anyone going there yet. Bit out of the way when there's at least 4 piercing places in the city centre.

hey guys... was bored on the bus down to cork, and listening to some tea party, and decided i want the words "senseless is PLEASURE, Nothing's FOREVER" tattood on the back of my neck... probably very very small, in black, im thinking with maybe a subtle hint of purple shadow around it.probably in celestial ring... anyone there NOT good?

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

Tbh I'd say purple mightnt be the best colour, unless its a bright one like the outside of the flowers on your lil countdown clock... Could end up just looking bruised...

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

    **** yeah! good thinking batman!

    *back to drawing boards*

    aka my hands.

i really really WANT this though... have the words written on my bedroom wall, and i feckin love them... so me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

im thinking now... given the message...and the meaning it has for me, for that period of my life, and my general mindset... maybe a 'bruising' around those words is a good thing.....

anywho, i think it should look something like this...

    SENSELESS IS PLEASURE
    NOTHING'S FOREVER

not quite the dramatic difference between the black and grey... more subtle though.

Mark Shiels is a tattooist and Mark Something Else is the piercer.
