Ive been a huge fan of Devilman since seeing it on Channel 4 years ago - the 3 new ones,cant rem all the titles but one of em was the demon bird.
Anyways,Ive been thinking about buying the boxset of the original Japanese TV show and was wondering if many of you guys had seen it?
How does it measure up against the more modern version in terms of violence etc and is it worth spending around 50 yoyos on it.Cheers!

Thanks but thats a review of the ones Ive already seen.What I want is to know what the original TV series from the 70s is like.

I see your situation now. Bit harder to get oppinions on the 70's stuff. From what I have heard though this is meant to be good. Might be worth a look also.:D

I love how in the description it says Age Rating: Older Children (May contain mild bad language, bloodless violence) and one of the pictures shows a persons face getting broken open complete with eyeball out of the socket :pac:

I remember watching this about 12 years ago or so when it was on channel 4, but as far as im aware it was the OAV. I think OP the description of the series in the ebay link and the pictures it shows are not the same pictures for the series, but that of the OAV. The series looks COMPLETELY different to the OAV.

Made the mistake of watching the original 70's series after seeing the new ones.They're alright but no where near as violent.There's also a new series out there but that's pretty tame too.You might actually be interested in the live action movie, I thought it was ok for what it was, some dodgy cgi but otherwisw spot on to the 3 ova's.

Loved Birth and Demon Bird back in the day and Crybaby was awesome
