So if can is around 220 a ton and mop is 350 a ton and 18 6 12 is 320 a ton - you’ll need all three of these to work out how much value each is

So start on n- 220 a ton for 27 units- 220/27 equals 8.15 for each unit of n
K is 350 a ton for 50 units so 350/50equals. 7 euro for each unit
No take 18-6-12 at 320 a ton- 18 units is worth 146.7 and 12 units of k is worth 84 so add these two together 146.7 and 84 equals 230.7- if 18-6-12 is 320 a ton then 320-230.7 equals 89.3- which is the value of 6 units of p- therefor 1 unit of p it worth 15 euro

Sulphar usuals cost 5euro per per 3 units

So to work out the street value of compounds multiply each figure by the value of each unit
    So 20-2-12 plus sulphar is 163+ 30 + 84 + 5= 282 worth of fertilizer

    24-2.5-10 equals 195+ 37.5 + 70 = 302.5
Both figures are below there actual cost but which is closer- the 20-2-12 is better value than the 24.2.5.10 but actually 18-6-12 is better value than both

For silage K be going 18-6-12 if you have no slurry 5 bags/acre. If you have slurry if you are spreading 3k gallons/ acre 60-70kgs of urea will only be required

That’s what we do, not that we spread much bag anyway.

If slurry is going out then spread can, if no slurry then 18-6-12

We go with 5000 gals slurry 3 bags 0-7-30 1 bag of mop 110 units n and 15 units sulphar- 4-5 cuts a year

Any stir in prices, up or down? Though oil is weakening at the moment, I don't think it follows through to fertiliser for a long time?

Demand will jump over next 3-4 weeks hard to see prices slackening before June.

Most farm supply places charge an extra fiver or tenner a tonne per tonne in small bags.

Some differences in prices there lads....what part of country are ye in....I am in North Leitrim and priced 3 tonne of 18:6:12 in small bags yday and was quoted 335 a tonne on account.
Some value at 315!.....is that cash on delivery?

Just a quick question to the folks who are knowlegeable on Fert spreading queries,am thinking of putting out 18:6:12 on some grazing ground on Saturday, soil and air temps always colder up here in NW than sunny South East for eg.
Is it a bit early yet for spreading 18:6:12?....my understanding is it would be out over a week before it would start to work at all so even if its cold for a while next week its as far on to have it out anyway?

Thanks for any feedback lads and look after yourselves during these trying times.
