    Cześć!

I'm moving to Poland for 6 months in September for a grad program and the company leaves it up to the grads to sort out accommodation and transport.

So I'm just wondering if anybody has any tips on finding these? I don't really know where to begin as they've given me minimal info so far!

I'll be near Świdnica and hopefully sharing with another grad. I don't speak Polish but am learning the basics. I'm living in the States right now so won't be able to get out to Poland until late August.

    Any advice would be great!

Dwupokojowe - 2 rooms (where both are treated as bedrooms, bigger one may be sort of a living room)
    Kawalerka - bedsit

    1000 zł = ~€250
usually quoted on 'per month' basis

Thank you both! I'll have more specific questions in the near future when I start really looking for somewhere, I'm just trying to get more info from my employers first

It doesn't look like I'll be able to get around using public transport, what are the options for cars in Poland? I'm only going to be there for 6 months so is there long term rentals available that wouldn't completely overcharge me??

Long term car rental would rather be hard to find option. Even the usual daily rates (120 pln, €30) seem to be somehow elevated compared to say France/Italy/Spain.

Car dealers might help you but most cases that will be a hire purchase option.

    How about this - www.ab-rent.pl/en/long-term-rental

I know nothing about how reliable they are, just the first thing (polish) Google threw at me.

Indeed they do have a branch in Wrocław, 50 km SW from Swidnica.

However over 300e monthly for a car (Opel Corsa, 6 months, 3,000 kms, 1,230pln) is definitely steep for what an average folk earns in Poland.

That's the cheapest I've seen but it's quite expensive alright, as I'll be earning a Polish wage.

I have a friend looking into buying an old one for me so hopefully that will work out!

Now I just need to decide where to live, HR warned me against the commute from Wroclaw to Strzegom so I'm considering Swidnica. Anyone know anything about it?
