Do people ever use a capo on an octave mandolin to turn into a normal mandolin?

I understand that it's possible to capo a bouzouki to turn it into an octave mandolin, so maybe they also go further down the neck to turn it into a mandolin?

I have a mandolin and am not familiar with the octave mandolin but as far as I can tell the only difference is it has an extra octave of frets below where the mandolin scale stops so I don't see why you couldn't capo it up an octave on it and play it like a regular mandolin. Give it a try and see what happens!
